Ejari on DubaiNow: Tenants and Landlords Can Now Register, Renew and Cancel Contracts in One App
Ejari on DubaiNow lets tenants and landlords register, renew and cancel contracts and pay the DEWA deposit in one app. What the DLD announced.
By Amani Khan

Ejari on DubaiNow lets Dubai tenants and landlords register, renew and cancel tenancy contracts through one digital platform, and pay the DEWA security deposit in the same process.
Moving house in Dubai has long meant juggling several platforms: one to register the tenancy, another to activate power and water. The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has now brought those steps together. On Monday, November 2, 2026, it announced the launch of an enhanced Ejari service through the DubaiNow app, so customers can manage their tenancy contracts and related services on one government platform.

1. Register a Tenancy Contract With Ejari on DubaiNow
Ejari registration, the first formal step of a Dubai tenancy, now happens in the same app as the rest of the process. Under the new system, customers can create and register tenancy contracts through one digital process. The Ejari certificate is issued immediately after the contract is approved. Ejari is Dubai's official system for registering rental contracts, and the Dubai Land Department runs it.
2. Renew or Cancel Your Contract Using UAE PASS
Landlords and tenants can also renew or cancel contracts digitally using UAE PASS. The DLD says this reduces the need to move between multiple platforms while improving security and transparency. If you do not have UAE PASS yet, read our guide to the digital Emirates ID, which explains how it works. Thinking of ending a lease early? See our guide to Dubai rental contract early termination.
3. Pay Your DEWA Security Deposit Through DubaiNow
The enhanced Ejari service allows customers to pay their DEWA security deposit directly through the DubaiNow app. That lets tenants activate electricity and water services for their property as part of the same digital process, which reduces the time and effort needed when moving into a new home. For the deposit amounts and other upfront costs, see our guide to Dubai moving costs.
4. Three Agencies Behind Ejari on DubaiNow
The initiative is part of ongoing cooperation between the DLD, DEWA and Digital Dubai to connect government services and simplify the customer experience. Background on Dubai's digital services is available from Digital Dubai.
What Officials Said About Ejari on DubaiNow
Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi, CEO of the Real Estate Registration Sector at the DLD, said the enhancement is another step towards simplifying real estate transactions. "The launch of the enhanced Ejari service through DubaiNow represents another milestone in the evolution of Dubai's digital real estate services," he said. He added that the initiative would accelerate service delivery, enhance transparency and give customers a secure digital experience.
Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA, said the integration would make it easier for customers to complete utility procedures alongside their tenancy registration. Paying security deposits and activating electricity and water through the same platform, he explained, would streamline procedures and cut the time needed to complete transactions.
Dubai's Rental Market and Ejari on DubaiNow
The launch comes amid continued activity in Dubai's rental market. In the first quarter of 2026, rental contracts in the emirate reached about Dh32.2 billion, with 118,385 new contracts and 135,607 renewals registered.
The Policies Behind Ejari on DubaiNow
The enhanced service supports the Dubai Government's Services 360 policy, which aims to provide integrated digital services that reduce the need for customers to complete separate procedures across different government entities. It also aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai Digital Strategy, which focus on improving government efficiency and expanding digital services.
According to the DLD, the continued development of Ejari is intended to make rental procedures more accessible while protecting the rights of landlords and tenants and strengthening transparency across Dubai's real estate
